PARIS — Vivendi Universal has named Sandrine Dufour deputy chief financial officer, taking over from Hubert Joly when he ankles in June.
Dufour, who will report to CFO Jacques Espinasse, heads conglom’s internal audit and special projects unit in New York. Dufour’s deputy, Vincent Vallejo, will replace her as head of the unit.
Joly is leaving “to take up a new, high-level position,” according to Viv U.
French prosecutors are continuing their probe into an alleged illegal share buyback under the management of former Viv U topper Jean-Marie Messier.
In March, France’s justice department put three men under investigation for an aggressive buyback of Viv U shares after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. in 2001, including treasurer Hubert Dupont-Lothelain and his deputy Francois Blondet.
