Aussies Vince Colosimo and Jacqueline McKenzie are attached to star in helmer Peter Cattaneo’s Oz outback drama “Pobby and Dingan.”
Shooting starts Aug. 19 in South Australia, backed by BBC Films and the U.K. Film Council’s Premiere Fund, in association with the South Australian Film Corp.
Colosimo and McKenzie will play invisible characters who befriend the daughter of a miner in the screenplay penned by Cattaneo, Ben Rice and Phil Trail.
Colosimo recently starred in five episodes of “The Practice.” McKenzie, was last seen in the ABC telepic “When Billie Meets Bobbie” and in USA skein “The 4400.”
“Pobby and Dingan” is produced by Lizie Gower, Nick Morris and Emile Sherman for their London-based Academy Features. Renaissance Film’s Angus Finney exec produces. Renaissance is handling worldwide sales outside the U.K.; Icon will release it in Oz.
