Bruckheimer bow bigger than 'Rings'

PASADENA, Calif. — Short of actually flying the Washington Monument to Pasadena Civic Auditorium Monday night, Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer spared no expense on the world preem of “National Treasure.”

Afterward, partygoers retired downstairs — underground, rather — to Pasadena Exhibition Hall, decorated with bald-eagle ice sculptures, chocolate fondue fountains and mammoth replicas of the Liberty Bell. Comparisons with the “Lord of the Rings” launch parties were quite favorable.

“I think it’s bigger,” said pic’s Sean Bean, who ought to know. “It’s a Jerry Bruckheimer film, so it’s got to be bigger.”
