Roberts is reality man for Sky One in L.A.

Exec previously worked as commissioning exec

LONDON — Sky One, the flagship entertainment channel of satcaster BSkyB, has appointed Jamie Roberts to scout for program ideas in Los Angeles.

As head of production and development for U.S. nonscripted programming, Roberts will seek to identify “quick turnaround programs and major new formats” and develop co-production opportunities with U.S. broadcasters.

For the past year, Roberts has been working as a commissioning exec at Sky in London, where he was most recently responsible for sports reality show “The Match.”

Based in Sky’s L.A. office, he will continue to report to Sky One controller James Baker and director of original programs Jo Wallace.
