“The Man Show” producers are hooking up with Oxygen.
Stone Stanley Entertainment, the company behind such male-oriented hits as Spike TV’s “The Joe Schmo Show” and Comedy Central’s “Man Show,” has inked a development deal with the femme cabler.
Production company is developing several reality show concepts for the network, which is seeking a “Schmo”-level breakout on the unscripted side.
“Stone Stanley has a proven track record with edgy, fun reality shows, and their brand of television fits right in with other Oxygen programming,” said programming prexy Debby Beece. Cabler recently stepped up its efforts in primetime reality, greenlighting the primetime home makeover skein “Nice Package” from “Trading Spaces” team Banyan Prods. (Daily Variety, March 15). Net also renewed its unscripted signature skeins “Talk Sex With Sue Johanson” and “Girls Behaving Badly.” Latter is a prank show.
Stone Stanley’s credits include ABC’s “Celebrity Mole” and Spike’s “Oblivious.”
