Osbourne ‘Doing It’

MTV alum Kelly joins ABC drama pilot cast

ABC’s gone MTV: Kelly Osbourne has become the latest music channel icon to make it over to the Alphabet web, joining the cast of drama pilot “Doing It.”

“The Osbournes” star will at least find a few familiar faces at the next ABC party, joining “Newlyweds” Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey –both of whom recently sealed deals to star in projects at the network.

Osbourne will play Deborah in the project, an hour-long Touchstone TV skein from scribes-exec producers Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah about the sex lives of teenage boys in Seattle (Daily Variety, Nov. 12).

Also joining the cast are Marguerite Moreau (“Runaway Jury,” “Queen of the Damned”) as Miss Young; and Missi Pergrym (“Jake 2.0,” “Tru Calling”) as Jackie. They joined previously announced cast members Sean Faris, Chris Lowell and Jon Foster.

“Doing It” also comes from Stu Bloomberg and Francie Calfo and is based on a U.K. novel by Melvin Burgess.

Endeavor-repped Osbourne has become a pop culture diva since “The Osbournes” became a phenomenon in 2002. Since then she has released an album and co-hosted the American Music Awards (with her family), among other exploits.

Meanwhile, Josh Hopkins (“The Perfect Storm,” “Ally McBeal”) has joined the cast of the Fox pilot “Ricochet.”

Hopkins, who’s repped by Gersh, also appeared in the features “Love & Sex” and “G.I. Jane.”

Ricochet,” from Touchstone TV, is a police drama that takes a “Memento”-like reverse approach to storytelling. Rene Echevarria and Jeff Kline exec produce.

Also joining the “Ricochet” cast are thesps Johnny Messner (“Tears of the Sun,”), Rosa Arrendondo (“Law & Order”) and Dagmara Dominczyk (“Law & Order: SVU”).
