Nick slates ‘Fresh Prince’ at nite

Net also takes 'Murphy' for 2005

Nick at Nite has bought “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” for its primetime lineup beginning in September, as well as “Murphy Brown” for January.

“Murphy Brown,” which ran on CBS from November 1988 through August 1998, proved a ratings disappointment when Warner Bros. Domestic TV syndicated the show’s reruns in the ’90s, at least in part because it seemed a bit dated.

But Bergen, who made an appearance at the upfront, joked, “In our heyday 15 years ago, George Bush was president and Iraq was a mess.” Welcome to the year 2004.
