NEW YORK — A group of seven execs from NBC Enterprises and Universal Domestic TV Distribution breathed a little easier on Friday when they learned that they would stay on the payroll and assume expanded duties in the merged operation, called NBC Universal TV Distribution.
Four of the seven come from the Universal side.
Exec VP Dan Weiss will oversee worldwide marketing. Senior VP Bill Vrbanic will take charge of worldwide distribution services. Senior VP Jeff Dellin will oversee worldwide research. Exec VP Andrea Melville will work on worldwide business affairs.
The three others labored at NBC.
Exec veep Jerry Petry will be responsible for worldwide business operations and sales strategy. Andy Warren, VP and chief financial officer of CNBC, will be in charge of worldwide finance. VP Joe Schlosser will oversee worldwide communications.
NBC U will settle on the exact titles of these seven execs shortly. Not in this group is Jim Benson, who was senior VP of worldwide communications for Universal TV Distribution, responsible for domestic and international syndication, pay-per-view and video-on-demand.
As previously announced, Frederick Huntsberry has become exec VP of domestic and international syndication for NBC U TV Distribution. Reporting to Huntsberry are Barry Wallach, president of domestic, and Belinda Menendez, president of international.
The NBC U inventory encompasses 46,000 episodes of TV series and more than 4,000 theatrical movies.
