‘Nanny’ to get more work

'LAX' being grounded

Fox is placing a call for more “Nanny 911,” while NBC is grounding “LAX.”

Just a few weeks after “Nanny” bowed, Fox has ordered a second cycle of eight episodes of the frosh reality skein, which has quietly emerged as a major bright spot on the net’s fall sked.

Granada-produced “Nanny’s” most recent seg averaged a 4.0/10 in adults 18-49, beating “The West Wing” and “The Bachelor,” and finishing first in adults 18-34.

Meanwhile, NBC has confirmed that production on “LAX” will halt once production on the skein’s initial 13-episode order wraps in the next few weeks. Skein hasn’t been officially canceled, but there are no plans to produce more segs this season.

What’s more, “LAX” will be off the air for the rest of the sweeps and into mid-December.

While the Heather Locklear starrer isn’t officially dead, it’s a longshot for renewal after its most recent airing crashed and burned in the ratings. Same goes for laffer “Father of the Pride,” which was supposed to return to NBC’s sked in December but is absent from the Peacock’s advanced listings through mid-December.

As for other NBC sked changes, it now seems likely the Peacock will shift “Scrubs” to Tuesdays at 9 sometime in January, possibly following it with the midseason laffer “Committed” (formerly “Crazy for You”).
