Comfort zone: “I spend most of my time in front of my computer or on an airplane. And when I’m not at a fashion show, I’m at my house in Southampton.”
Gotham influence: “Everything about the city informs my work. The pace and movement of the streets, the theater, the stores and the restaurants. I thrive on being surrounded by people who are at the top of their game.”
Culture Club: “I was a child of a Broadway-loving mother, and have a fondness for all Broadway theaters, but I also love Lincoln Center for its breadth of offerings, from the Metropolitan Opera to the Film Society. And how could you not love Carnegie Hall?”
Food fix: “My new favorite restaurant is Jean-George’s Spice Market, for its ambience and combination of Asian foods and influences. I also love Da Silvano for its high energy, buzz, and great food.”
New York minute: “During a Michael Kors show (pre-Bryant Park) in a loft building on 24th Street, the music started to blast on the runway, everybody was sitting in their seats, and plaster from the ceiling crumbled and landed on Cindy, Naomi, Christy — the supermodels of the day — and they just kept walking, didn’t miss a beat.”
