Disney has upped Bob Lambert to senior veep for worldwide media technology and development.
Previously corporate senior VP for new technology and development, Lambert will have an expanded role in his new post, overseeing a number of digital media initiatives, as well as Disney’s relationships with tech companies, regulatory matters and antipiracy content protection.
“Bob’s understanding of the technical, business, and interindustry landscape make him ideally qualified to represent Disney in our interactions with technology partners, and in our business planning,” said Peter Murphy, Disney’s chief strategy officer.
Lambert’s prior posts include a stint as VP in the studio and animation businesses overseeing the conversion of production processes to digital.
He’ll continue his previous responsibilities leading the Mouse House’s New Technology and New Media group and providing corporate guidance for the Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development unit.
