Lippin backs students

Prizes recognize video, film projects worldwide

NEW YORK — The Lippin Family Trust has signed on to underwrite this year’s NATPE Educational Foundation Student Video & Film Production Awards.

Handed out each spring by a jury of industry and execs, prizes recognize student video and film projects worldwide, based on the criteria of concept, execution and creativity. Winning student receives a cash award; a matching grant is given to the winner’s school.

“These awards and their accompanying recognition give great incentive to the students who will become TV’s future producers and directors,” said Lew Klein, educational foundation prexy and co-founder of the National Assn. of Television Program Executives.

Last year’s competition received a record number of submissions — 150 from 88 schools.

Student awards program is one of the many initiatives that the NATPE Educational Foundation offers each year.
