Diane Keaton is looking at HBO as the place to star in her first television series.
Keaton has inked a deal in which the pay cabler and Keaton’s Blue Relief Prods. will develop two half-hour comedies, one of which Keaton will star in and exec produce. No writers are attached to either project.
Keaton’s longtime producing partner Bill Robinson will exec produce whichever series goes forward. Pair most recently exec produced Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
“The game plan is for one of these half-hours to be a slice-of-life series and the other a broader comedy. Both will be shot single-camera,” Robinson said.
Keaton is at work on the CBS telepic “Surrender, Dorothy,” which she is starring in and exec producing, and last appeared and exec produced the Lifetime drama “On Thin Ice.”
