It’s getting down to the wire for 20th Century Fox TV toppers Dana Walden and Gary Newman.
Duo’s contracts expire this week, and so far, the studio hasn’t said anything about the two execs staying on. That’s led to intense speculation around town about what’s next for Walden and Newman, who share the title of prexy of 20th Century Fox TV.
Indeed, a few weeks ago, there was rampant buzz suggesting Walden — who’s had offers from outside companies over the last few years — was ready to bolt. Betting now, however, is 80-20 that the Newman-Walden team will stay in place, with both execs inking new deals.
So what’s been holding up a pact? Some industry wags believe financial wrangling may be the issue, though the busy schedules of all involved might also have played a role in preventing a speedy resolution.
