Green, Cooper to receive OBEs

Filmmaker Guy Green and editor Anne V. Coates have been selected as Officers to the Order of the British Empire on the Queen’s 2004 New Year’s Honour List.

Green was the first British cinematographer to win an Academy Award for his work on David Lean’s “Great Expectations.” Coates won an Oscar for her work on “Lawrence of Arabia” and has received four subsequent noms. The British honors are awarded for exceptional achievement or service by the Queen on the advice of the British Prime Minister.
