FremantleMedia North America’s top New York exec, Jane Rimer, has ankled the company, as the “American Idol” producer shifts all of its production to the West Coast.
Rimer opted to remain in Gotham rather than make the move to Santa Monica, where FremantleMedia has decided to base its development and production for North America (Daily Variety, June 21). She had served as senior VP of development and programming for the production company.
The consolidation was ordered by FremantleMedia North America CEO Tom Gutteridge. Since joining the company earlier this year, Gutteridge has also launched a new initiative in which the company would serve as an incubator for individual producers and small reality companies.
Rimer, who helped open FremantleMedia’s New York offices seven years ago, will remain as a consultant with the company, helping oversee its interest in the Canada series “Canadian Idol.” Beyond that, she’s looking for a new gig in New York.
FremantleMedia continues to have offices in New York but is now fully based in Santa Monica.
