Plot finds male witch falling in love with a mortal woman

Christine Baranski and Barry Bostwick are casting a spell on Fox.

Veteran thesps have joined the cast of the net’s Warner Bros. TV-produced pilot “Spellbound,” which has been in the works for a while and snagged a greenlight earlier this summer (Daily Variety, July 15).

Skein revolves around a male witch who is forced to decide whether to give up his powers after falling in love with a mortal woman. Baranski and Bostwick will play parents.

Baranski recently starred in NBC’s short-lived laffer “Happy Family.” Bostwick played the mayor in ABC’s “Spin City.”

Rob Greenberg and Suzanne Martin write and exec produce the project, while Andy Ackerman is onboard to direct and also exec produce.

“Spellbound” was first set up at NBC before shifting to Fox last spring.
