Feature helmer Ridley Scott (“Matchstick Men”) will make his series debut later this season with the CBS drama skein “Numbers,” while Rob Lowe’s”Dr. Vegas” has crapped out.
Eye has picked up the Par-produced “Midseason” for midseason, ordering 12 episodes of the crime drama. Ridley Scott and Tony Scott will exec produce via their Scott Free Prods.
“Numbers” revolves around an FBI agent who who enlists his math genius brother to help solve crimes. Rob Morrow, Sabrina Lloyd, Judd Hirsch and David Krumholtz head up the cast. Mick Jackson (“The Bodyguard”) directed the pilot.
While Scott Free has developed several TV projects in the past, “Numbers” reps the first series project for the brothers Scott.
Meanwhile, CBS confirmed Tues-day morning that Lowe starrer “Dr. Vegas” is being pulled from the sched-ule, effective immediately.
A repeat of “Without a Trace” will air in the show’s 10 p.m. Friday slot this week; during the rest of the No-vember sweeps, Eye plans to air encores of either “CSI” or “CSI: Miami” on Fridays. On Saturdays, CBS will rely on “Without a Trace” or “Cold Case” reruns to fill the “Crimetime Saturday” slot.
No official word on whether “Dr. Vegas” is done for good, but industry insiders expect the series won’t return.
