Eye high on ‘Up,’ ‘Center’

Both skeins retaining high percentage of lead-ins

CBS has rounded out its fall pickups, ordering additional episodes of frosh laffers “Listen Up” and “Center of the Universe.”

Eye greenlit nine more segs of “Listen Up,” making for a full 22 episode season, but ordered just two more episodes of “Center of the Universe.” Latter sitcom debuted in late October, which means it still has plenty of unaired episodes in the can.

Produced by Regency TV and CBS Prods., “Listen Up” stars Jason Alexander as sports commentator Tony Kleinman — based on real-life columnist Tony Kornheiser. Malcolm-Jamal Warner stars as his TV show co-host, while Wendy Makkena plays his wife Dana. Daniella Monet and Will Rothhaar also star.

Jeff Martin and Lindy DeKoven exec produce the skein.

“Center of the Universe,” meanwhile, has posted a 3.9/9 with adults 18-49 after three airings, while averaging 10.3 million viewers.

Show holds on to 89% of its “King of Queens” lead-in on Wednesday nights. Besides the additional two episodes, CBS has also ordered six more scripts of the series.

“Universe” stars John Goodman as the middleman in an extended, eccentric family. Show also stars Jean Smart, Diedrich Bader, Melinda McGraw, Spencer Breslin, Ed Asner and Olympia Dukakis.

Mitch Katlin, Nat Bernstein, Alan Kirschenbaum, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum exec produce the show for CBS Prods. and Warner Bros. TV.
