Former “Baywatch” babe Carmen Electra will take another stab at series TV, signing on to star in a project for Fox.
“Bernie Mac” exec producer Pete Aronson is on board to exec produce and oversee scribes Andrew Jacobson and Adam Epstein (“Not Another Teen Movie”). Katalyst’s Ashton Kutcher (who has a long-standing friendship with Electra) and Jason Goldberg will also exec produce.
20th Century Fox TV will produce the laffer, which is still in the script stage. Project stars Electra as a woman who marries into a big Midwestern family. The hitch: She stands to inherit a large sum if they don’t break up.
Under her talent deal with the studio, Electra could potentially be cast in other projects in the event that this sitcom doesn’t move forward.
Electra’s recent credits include the features “Starsky & Hutch,” “My Boss’s Daughter” and “Scary Movie.”
She also hosted Bravo’s “Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model” and, along with hubby Dave Navarro, she starred in the MTV skein “‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave.”
Besides starring as Lani McKenzie in “Baywatch,” Electra also was a cast member on the WB’s short-lived “Hyperion Bay.”
