Jackie Collins is heading back to the small screen, teaming with entertainment cabler E! on a series of tell-all specials that she will host.
E! has greenlit production on “Jackie Collins Presents,” ordering six one-hour episodes inspired by the titles of her bestselling novels: “Hitched in Hollywood,” “Divorced Women,” “Sinners,” “Young Hollywood,” “Scandalous” and “Lovers and Players.”
Collins will serve as an exec producer. She last hosted “Jackie Collins’ Hollywood” for CBS.
“It’s a great connection for me and my readers. When (E! prexy) Ted Harbert came up with the idea for me to host a series of specials that would reflect the titles of my books, I thought it was brilliant,” Collins said. “It’s not going to be nasty about people — just an informative look at real-life Hollywood. We’ll talk to powerful Hollywood lawyers, stars going through divorces and a variety of celebrities.”
E! entertainment exec VP Mark Sonnenberg called the sudser scribe a true Hollywood insider.
Series premieres Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. Skein will be available at next week’s Mipcom.
Collins is onboard to produce the romantic comedy “Fish Out of Water” with Anonymous Content and Focus Features. Her last foray into TV, the CBS telepic “Hollywood Wives: The Next Generation,” aired late last year. More than 400 million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.
