Mark Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment shingle is setting its sights on the small screen.
Atmosphere has hired former Wilshire Court Prods. exec Stacy Mandelberg to head its TV operations as senior VP.
Mandelberg will report to Atmosphere prexy Bernie Goldmann, who just joined the company last week (Daily Variety, April 5).
Also joining the division is Chantal Coogan Lundberg, who will serve as a creative executive under Mandelberg. Coogan Lundberg previously was an exec at Artists Production Group.
“Helping to build a television division from the ground up is an exciting challenge,” Mandelberg said.
The exec spent six years at Wilshire Court, where she handled projects such as VH1’s first telepic, “Sweetwater: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Story.” Before that, she had been with Von Zerneck/Sertner Films since 1991, working on several Robin Cook longforms (“Invasion,” “Virus”) for NBC as well as TNT projects “Crazy Horse” and “The Broken Chain.”
Mandelberg also has worked at Stan Margulies Prods., Cosgrove Meurer Prods. and New World TV.
Coogan Lundberg, meanwhile, first joined Artists Management Group in 1997 and later worked in development for both APG and ATG. Before that, she worked at Digital Planet.
Atmosphere launched in December as a venture run by Canton and investment manager Mark Kimsey.
