Star magazine gossip columnist Victoria Gotti is getting the reality treatment, a la “The Osbournes,” on A&E.
Celeb-centered series in development at the cabler revolves around Gotti’s personal life and career as a tab journo. Network is in production on the untitled pilot, which could air as soon as summer should it be picked up to series.
A New York personality and gossip-column fixture, Gotti is the daughter of the late mob boss John Gotti. Last week, she was named editor-in-chief of Red Carpet, a new mag from Star publisher American Media.
“This is one of the many exciting projects we have in development,” an A&E spokesman said.
Gotti also penned the novels “The Senator’s Daughter,” “I’ll Be Watching You” and “Superstar.”
Series continues A&E’s expansion into reality TV – Granada-produced docusoap “Airline” has grown the cabler’s total and target 25-54 auds, and upcoming series “Dearly Departed,” about a family-run mortuary, is quickly building buzz.
A&E also has several more reality projects in development with plans to premiere three by the end of the year.
