Korda Marshall has been appointed managing director of Warner Bros UK.
The move takes Marshall from a similar role at Atlantic Records UK, where he has been replaced by Max Lousada.
Marshall is credited with signing such acts as Ash, Muse, Goldie Lookin’ Chain and The Darkness, the latter of whom have sold 3.5 million copies of their debut album “Permission to Land” worldwide.
Lousada was Marshall’s head of A&R at Mushroom Records, which was sold to Warner Music UK in 2003. Lousada signed Zero 7 to the label and oversaw a roster including Garbage and Paul Oakenfold, as well as Ash and Muse.
Nick Phillips, chairman of Warner Music UK said in a statement, “Korda Marshall, is one of the most talented executives in the industry today, and his passion and commitment to great music is superlative. Max Lousada has shown equal excitement and fervor about his work.”
