CANNES — Music managers Irving Azoff and Jordan Bratman and marketing exec Noah Kerner are creating a clearinghouse of music makers to compose for TV and radio advertisements.

Dubbed Soundproof, the roster includes Babyface (who cut the company’s first commercial), Glen Ballard, David Foster, Rodney Jerkins, Quincy Jones, Felix Da Housecat, Keith Stegall, James Stroud and Armand Van Helden. Christina Aguilera, Rob Hoffman and Heather Holley are working on a European spot for Aguilera’s latest release.

Brand bumps

“We will help brands memorably articulate their message in a crowded marketplace with music that will powerfully differentiate their product and influence their bottom line,” said Kerner, a partner in marketing firm SoulKool and a former marketing manager and strategist for the VH1 Group and MTV Interactive.

Bratman was director of A&R for producer Dallas Austin’s Darp Music and later his manager. He also served as a music consultant to Universal Pictures on various soundtracks.

Azoff is chairman of Azoffmusic Management and personal manager of the Eagles.

“Jordan’s and Noah’s backgrounds are ideally suited to helping advertisers tap into the sounds and rhythms that drive contemporary pop culture,” said Azoff. “They intuitively understand the identity of a brand and the creative elements necessary to win market share. Additionally, producers now have a new and valuable channel for their own talent.”
