The National Alliance for Musical Theater has announced its selections for its 16th annual festival of new musicals.
Stephen Schwartz, composer-lyricist of “Wicked,” will host the showcase, which runs Oct. 3 and 4 at the new Dodger Stages.
Eight tuners will be featured:
“Camille Claudel,” music by Frank Wildhorn, book and lyrics by Nan Knighton, directed by Gabriel Barre.
“The Drowsy Chaperone,” music by Greg Morrison, book by Don McKellar and Bob Martin, lyrics by Lisa Lambert.
“The Flight of the Lawnchair Man,” music and lyrics by Robert Lindsey Nassif, book by Peter Ullian.
“The Girl in the Frame,” by Jeremy Desmon.
“A Good Man,” music by Ray Leslee, book and lyrics by Philip S. Goodman.
“Langston in Harlem,” music by Walter Marks, book by Kent Gash, lyrics by Langston Hughes.
“Striking 12: The Groovelily Holiday Show,” by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Valerie Vigoda. “Winesburg, Ohio,” music by Andre Pluess and Ben Sussman, book and lyrics by Eric Rosen, additional lyrics by Pluess and Sussman.
