TORONTO — Visual Bible Intl. has tapped Oscar-winning producer Jake Eberts (“Chariots of Fire,” “Gandhi”) as nonexecutive chairman of its board of directors.
Eberts will exec produce the next three films on Visual Bible’s slate, beginning with “The Gospel of Mark,” which is skedded to begin lensing in spring. The film’s producer is Garth Drabinsky.
The troubled company, which earlier this year lost its chief financial officer and many of its directors amid internal conflicts over corporate governance, has appointed Luc Perron as chief financial officer plus Paul Carroll and Marlene Hore to the board of directors.
The company announced that its consultation agreements with Drabinsky and Myron Gottlieb will conclude shortly and thanked them for their contributions to the company.
Toronto-based Visual Bible (“The Gospel of John”) is licensed by the American Bible Society to produce film adaptations based on the books of the Bible.
