‘Tomorrow’ tops Indian Film kudos

Romantic Bollywood drama “Kal ho naa ho” (Tomorrow Might Never Come) won eight awards at the fifth Intl. Indian Film Academy Awards, India’s version of the Oscars.

“Kal” won picture, actress (Preity Zinta), supporting actor (Saif Ali Khan) and actress (Jaya Bachchan), script (Karan Johar), music direction, lyrics and male playback singer.

But its star, Shah Rukh Khan, lost in the leading actor category to Hrithik Roshan, who won for sci-fi film “Koi mil gaya” (I Met Someone), India’s biggest hit at the box office last year.

More than 8,000 people filled Singapore’s Indoor Stadium for Saturday night’s awards show.

Winners were selected by a global Internet poll.
