IndieScreens getting the word out

Short Take

Dan Bianchi of VideoTheater NYC and Shane Snipes of Indieville organized an indie film “summit” in December to discuss and drum up support for a network of Gotham’s indie groups, which they have tentatively titled IndieScreens.

Network’s main purpose is to coordinate the groups’ marketing efforts to increase audiences and screening opportunities for low-budget indie pics. A Web site will be launched in early January containing a list of the groups involved, their submission information and a calendar of citywide screenings, which will also be sent out in a regular mass email.
