Working Title partners Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan want to make a film about the untold role Yale U students played in helping the U.S. kick some tail in WWI.
Working Title has acquired rights to “The Millionaires’ Unit: The Aristocratic Flyboys Who Fought the Great War and Invented America’s Air Might,” a proposal for a book by Marc Wortman.
Book tells the story of a group of young rich men, mostly Yale students, who started the Yale Flying Club, and, using their money and family connections, bolstered the country’s air force. The students signed up for service and flew WWI missions, many becoming decorated war heroes, said Steve Fisher, who made the deal. Book will be published in 2006.
Fellner and Bevan are producing, and will set a writer shortly.
