Wolfe finds ‘Love,’ ‘City’

Von Borries' pic to open in fall, Gay's film to unspool in 2005

Distributor Wolfe has acquired North American rights to German-language pic “Love in Thoughts” and Spanish pic “In the City.”

“Love in Thoughts,” which bowed at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, is based on the true story of five German college students in the 1920s whose tangled passions ended in murder and suicide. Directed by Achim von Borries and starring Daniel Bruhl (“Good Bye Lenin!”), pic will open this fall.

“In the City,” directed by Cesc Gay, will open early next year. The film premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and won Spain’s Goya for Eduard Fernandez’s performance as supporting actor. Pic weaves together the lives of a group of thirtysomethings in Barcelona and the confusion they experience.

Upcoming releases for Wolfe include “Adored: Diary of a Porn Star” and “Goldfish Memory.”
