WB runs ‘Express’ sneak

X-mas toon hopes early peek will add aud interest

Warner Bros. announced Tuesday that it is skedding sneaks of “The Polar Express” in about 500 theaters Saturday. Pic opens Nov. 10.

Newspaper ads are slated to run this week to bring in auds to the 4 p.m. shows of the Christmas toon. Warners distrib prexy Dan Fellman said the goal of the sneaks was “to get the word of mouth out there.”

Of course, also playing this weekend is Walt Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” which will begin luring plenty of youngsters on its own.

Asked if the studio is be wary of going up against another animation blockbuster, Fellman said, “I think Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis will bring them in.”
