Mark Markline has been promoted to VP of international publicity for Universal.
Previously U senior publicist, international publicity, Markline now will head the studio’s Los Angeles-based international publicity team. He will oversee the majority of Universal’s international theatrical campaigns, from start of production through release in all territories.
He will continue to report to David Kosse, president of international marketing and distribution.
Before joining U as senior publicist in 2002, Markline was executive director of field publicity and promotions for USA Films. He oversaw all field market theatrical publicity and promotional campaigns for the company’s features, including “Being John Malkovich,” “Traffic” and “Gosford Park.”
At U, he has worked on international campaigns for “8 Mile,” “The Hulk,” “American Wedding” and “Van Helsing.” Markline will oversee U’s international campaigns for “The Bourne Supremacy,” Ray Charles biopic “Ray” and Peter Jackson’s remake of “King Kong,” among others.
