HOLLYWOOD — The first Tribeca Film Festival at the Fondazione Prada will take place in Milan, Italy, Oct. 12-16. The free event will screen highlights from May’s Tribeca fest in Gotham.
Miuccia Prada and Germano Celant, prexy and artistic director, respectively, of the Fondazione Prada, are organizers of th event along with Tribeca prexy Jennifer Maguire and executive director Peter Scarlet.
Fest will include a gala premiere with Tribeca co-founders Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff.
Among the docus will be two making their European bows, “The Beauty Academy of Kabul” and “Lipstick & Dynamite, Piss & Vinegar: The First Ladies of Wrestling,” as well as the Italian preem of “Arna’s Children.”
In fiction, “Killer Diller” will be a European premiere.
“We are very pleased to be collaborating with an institution that has such a profound knowledge of the value of artistic expression,” said De Niro.
