Talent Pool diving into pic pacts

Boe receives $550,000 in prod'n support

Launched last year to support young and upcoming filmmakers, the Danish Film Institute’s Talent Pool announced last week that it has allocated development and production funding for six projects. The effort had come under strong criticism for failing to decide on films to support.

Christoffer Boe, whose first film, “Reconstruction,” was a Cannes honoree, received $550,000 in production support for “OffScreen,” which follows a man’s yearlong effort to become invisible. The film will be produced by AlphaVille Pictures Copenhagen, which Boe recently set up with “Reconstruction” producer Tine Grew Pfeiffer. The team is in production with another feature, “Alegro.”

Sami Saif, of award-winning “Family” fame, received production support for “Awaiting,” from newly established Unit Films.

Development finance went to Kaspar Bisgaard’s “Last Days of Darkness,” produced by Filip Spreckelsen of Metronome; Rune Schott’s “Boy Boy,” from Blenkov & Schonnemann; Pernille Fischer Christensen’s “Soap,” of Nimbus Film; and Anders Morgenthaler’s fully animated “Princess,” from Zentropa Entertainments and A Film.
