Shoreline Entertainment has acquired worldwide distribution rights to “Wish You Were Here,” a kidnap-thriller produced by Spain’s Versatile Films and directed by Darryn W. Welch.
Written by Brett Goldstein, pic is the second film from the outfit, which is based on Spain’s Costa del Sol southern coast. Versatile initiated production with “Oh Marbella!,” both of which are sold by Shoreline.
Starring Sam Page and Natassia Malthe, pic turns on a man’s desperate search for his girlfriend. It is set on the Costa del Sol.
“Most hostage thrillers take place in depressing locations. I wanted to make a film about a man who experiences hell in paradise,” Welch said.
“Wish You Were Here” will be ready for delivery in 2005. Shoreline will sell it under its genre-driven Riptide banner.
