Brett Ratner is attached to direct an untitled comedy pitch at Sony from writing team David Diamond and David Weissman.
The duo will immediately begin writing the project, whose subject is being kept under wraps.
Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur will produce through Moritz’s Sony-based Original shingle.
Ratner and his partner Jay Stern also will produce.
Matt Tolmach and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing the project at the studio.
Ratner, Diamond and Weissman previously teamed on Universal’s “Family Man.”
Besides “Family Man,” Diamond and Weissman, both repped by UTA, recently did a production rewrite on “Herbie the Love Bug” at Disney.
Ratner, repped by CAA, just wrapped New Line’s “After the Sunset” with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek. He was expected to do “Rush Hour 3” next, but budget complexities have him eyeing “Josiah’s Canon” at Fox and “Mission: Impossible 3” at Paramount.
