Philadelphia fest set for April

The 2004 Philadelphia Film Festival will unspool April 8-21. Fest will screen 133 feature films and 144 shorts from 43 countries. Opening night selection is “Shade,” Damian Nieman’s directorial debut featuring Sylvester Stallone and Thandie Newton.

Thesp Mary-Louise Parker, who co-stars in fest’s closing night feature “Saved,” will receive an artistic achievement award and introduce her latest film, “The Best Thief in the World.” Helmer Tobe Hooper will also receive an award and introduce his latest work, “The Toolbox Murders.”
