Mount, Landis get ‘Real’

Comedy about football game between gays, straights

The Mount Film Co. has optioned Dan O’Dowd’s “Real Men,” with John Landis attached to direct.

Landis’ credits include Universal’s “Animal House” and “The Blues Brothers,” both of which he directed when Mount Co. principal Thom Mount headed production at the studio.

“Real Men” is a comedy about an impromptu small-town football game pitting gay against straight that attracts worldwide attention.

Mount and O’Dowd will produce the film, with Chris Kobin and David Jones attached as co-exec producers.

Landis most recently directed documentary “Slasher” for the IFC Channel; pic profiled a man known as the world’s greatest used-car salesman.

Mount is in pre-production on the Ernest Hemingway biopic “Papa,” which will star Nick Nolte.
