Kismet’s ‘Mojave’ complete

Scribes Kebo, Liden make helming debuts on teen pic

Kismet Entertainment Group has wrapped production on “Mojave,” a contemporary thriller that aspires to introduce the terror of “Deliverance” to a younger demo.

Kismet’s David E. Allen and Mark Borman produced the pic. David Kebo and Rudi Liden wrote the script and make their directing debuts.

Pic has a cast of up and comers. Eric Christian Olsen (“Dumb and Dumberer”), Rider Strong (“Cabin Fever”), Bumper Robinson (“Sabrina the Teenage Witch”) and Wayne Young play friends who head to the desert to attend a winter rave. Instead, it turns into the trip to hell when they meet up with a couple of bad locals, played by Dash Mihok (“Dark Blue”) and Vince Vieluf (“Grind”). Newcomer Jennifer Cortese is the female lead.

“Our inspiration for the story of ‘Mojave’ came from our deep affection for the themes and cinematic sensibilities of those great thriller films from the ’70s, such as ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Mad Max,’ ” Kebo said. “The film is about discovering who we are by facing the choices we hope we never have to make.”

The producers are also teaming on the dark romantic drama “Neo Ned,” starring Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Renner, to be completed this year.
