Mandalay Entertainment has made itself a Riche deal.
U-based shingle has inked a multi-year production deal with producers Alan Riche and Peter Riche’s newly formed Sunrise Entertainment shingle. Sunrise will develop and produce theatrical films and television projects for Mandalay and be housed at its headquarters.
First project under the new deal is “One of Us.” Robert Luketic (“Legally Blonde”) is attached to helm; Gerald Di Pego (“Phenomenon”) penned the script.
Duo, praised by Mandalay topper Peter Guber as “hard-charging, creative and extremely productive,” have produced a spate of recent pics. Alan Riche most recently produced “Starsky & Hutch” for Warner Bros., as well as “Family Man” at Universal.
Prior to becoming a producer, Alan Riche served in senior executive positions for a number of companies, including senior VP of the Guber/Peters Co., exec VP at TriStar, senior VP for De Laurentiis Entertainment Group and prexy-chief operating officer of John Hughes’ Hughes Entertainment.
Prior to joining Alan Riche as a partner, Peter Riche worked in talent management at Gallin/Morey and More-Medavoy, working with thesps including Jason Biggs, Ryan Reynolds and Maria Bello.
