HOLLYWOOD — Richard Green, longtime co-head of the literary department at United Talent Agency, is ankling the tenpercentery for Creative Artists Agency.
While at UTA, Green represented film directors such as Adam Shankman (“Bringing Down the House”) and Raja Gosnell (“Scooby Doo”); TV helmers like John Cole (“Sex and the City,” “The West Wing”); and scribes including Ethan Canin and Jonathan Franzen.
Spokesmen for UTA and CAA declined to say which clients might be joining Green at CAA, but many speculate that Shankman will definitely be following Green.
In ankling UTA, Green leaves behind his longtime partner Howard Sanders, with whom Green had worked for years at literary boutique Pleshette Sanders Green. The duo departed there in 1995 to join UTA, where both have worked in concert. Insiders said Green had been recruited by CAA over the past year, and that he had tried to persuade Sanders to join him, but Sanders demurred.
A CAA spokesman declined to comment on the move or its implications for the operations of the CAA literary department, saying that final administrative details were still being worked out.
