Fortissimo Films has taken an equity stake on “Shortbus,” the new film from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” creator John Cameron Mitchell.
Fortissimo will rep international rights on the pic, which is set in New York City and explores relationships during a citywide power outage.
Mitchell has been developing the script in workshops for more than a year and the film is expected to break new ground with its inclusion of graphic sex.
No cast has been set yet.
Written and directed by Mitchell, pic is produced by Howard Gertler and Tim Perell.
Headed by Michael J. Werner and Wouter Barendrecht, Fortissimo is also repping the Pang Bros.’ pic “The Eye 2” and Gregg Araki’s “Mysterious Skin.”
