Filmart has spring in its step

Event now part of Entertainment Expo Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Filmart, Asia’s leading film and TV market, has moved up its dates from summer to spring (March 22-24) in a bid to make Hong Kong “the Tinseltown of Asia.”

Now part of a newly created mega-market called Entertainment Expo Hong Kong, the Filmart is being folded in with the Hong Kong Intl. Film Festival and a slew of other Hong Kong entertainment-related expos and markets including film financiers, the Hong Kong Film Awards, and music and digital filmmaking and entertainment markets.

The market also will include the Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), which will showcase some 20 film projects by Asian filmmakers.

Filmmakers may enter projects provided they are from Asia or have an Asian stakeholder attached. Closing dates for project entries is Nov. 30. For information, contact Hazel Chueng or Ivy Ho at haf@tdc.org.hk.
