Film Sales looking to answer ‘Question’

Docu produced through the Ganga SRL banner

NEW YORK — The Film Sales Co. has sealed a pact to rep rights to feature docu “The Big Question” in all English-language territories.

Helmed by Francesco Cabras and Alberto Molinari, pic was shot entirely on the set of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ.” It includes interviews with the helmer and his cast.

Film Sales has further sealed a spate of pacts on its feature “Kontroll,” which like “Question” is screening at the AFI Fest, as well as the docu “My Architect.”

Produced through the Ganga SRL banner, “Question” ponders man’s relationship with religion. Pic preems Monday at the AFI Fest.

“The microcosm of (‘The Passion’ set) adds a surreal timelessness, and timeliness,” to “Question,” said the Film Sales Co.’s Andrew Herwitz.

Peeking at Film Sales’ AFM ledger, the company sold off all Polish rights to the Nimrod Antal-helmed feature “Kontroll” to distrib Kino Swiat. Hungary’s official Oscar submission, pic is being rolled out domestically by ThinkFilm; it premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes earlier this year.

Centering on a killer in the Budapest subway system, the thriller is unspooling as a market screening, too.

The banner further sold Turkish rights to Nathaniel Kahn’s Oscar-nominated docu “Architect” to the Barbarian Turk label.

Bright Angel has built a deal on “Architect” for all rights in Benelux.
