SANTA MONICA — Echo Bridge Entertainment is launching a domestic theatrical distribution arm in 2005 with the family drama “When Zachary Beaver Came to Town,” starring Jonathan Lipnicki, and the Tobe Hooper-directed horror pic “Mortuary.”
Shingle plans to release four to six pics per year, handling wide releases for mainstream commercial pics and niche platform releases for specialty fare.
Echo Bridge managing partner Michael Rosenblatt will oversee distribution, with managing partner Lucie Salhany supervising marketing.
“Town” will open in a limited release Jan. 21 and will expand to additional markets throughout the U.S.
Written and directed by John Schultz, pic also stars Eric Stoltz, Jane Krakowski and Sasha Neulinger.
“Mortuary,” which is in pre-production, will open wide in fall 2005. Pic starts shooting Nov 27.
“Branching into domestic theatrical distribution was the logical next step for this company as we’ve increased acquisitions over the last year,” said Rosenblatt.
