Deuce Bigalow will peddle his wares again, this time for Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The studio has teamed up with Happy Madison for “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.” Rob Schneider is back in the title role he originated in “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” and Eddie Griffin is expected to reprise his role as Deuce’s man-pimp.

T.J. Schneider wrote the script with David Garrett, Jason Ward and Josh Lieb. Production begins later this year.

Sony purchased the project from Disney, which made the first film but considered the R-rated sequel too racy to bear the Mouse imprimatur.

Because of its strong relationship with Happy Madison’s Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo, Sony was considered the likely landing place for the “Deuce” sequel when Disney declined to make it (Daily Variety, Oct. 17).

At that time, Disney allowed Schneider to solicit other suitors, with Disney keeping 5% of first dollar gross.

In “European Gigolo,” Deuce gets invited by his pimp to vacation in Amsterdam, only to discover that he’s being pressed back into the flesh biz. The script has been a popular industry read, introducing a fresh batch of misfit female clients. In the current Adam Sandler comedy “Fifty First Dates,” Schneider co-stars as a glass-eyed, shark-bitten Hawaiian.

Columbia’s Doug Belgrad and Jonathan Kadin will oversee the pic.
