HBO Films has pacted with the Film Society of Lincoln Center to launch a national competition seeking a student-made film trailer to run before all FSLC screenings for the next two years.
Trailers must showcase FSLC’s major annual fests, programs and events, which include the New York Film Festival.
Winner will be unveiled at the annual New Directors/New Films fest, to be co-presented with Gotham’s Museum of Modern Art in March.
HBO pros will put the finishing touches on the 45-second winning entry. The winner will receive $5,000 and a trip to New York for the trailer’s premiere.
“We now have the opportunity not only to create a Film Society trailer — an important vehicle that will convey our mission and identity — but also to discover new film talent,” said FSLC exec director Claudia Bonn.
Contest entries are due Dec. 31.
