Weinstein to determine winning entries

New Haven, Conn.-based creative media production company MediaLiquid, run by Yale graduates and the America Prepared Campaign, has unveiled a nationwide contest for short films that encourage citizens to prepare for terrorist attacks.

Miramax topper Harvey Weinstein, a member of the America Prepared advisory board, will determine the winning entries, which will receive $10,000 in prize money.

Led by journalist Steven Brill, the America Prepared Campaign is a nonprofit, nonpartisan campaign that works with American leaders in media, marketing, government, emergency preparedness and business to encourage Americans to prepare for such attacks.

MediaLiquid assists for-profit and nonprofit companies in finding unique, cost-effective ways to communicate their message to television, film and online audiences.

Deadline for submission is Aug.4.
