Collette slips into ‘Her Shoes’

Scott Free to produce Hanson-helmed pic

Toni Collette will star opposite Cameron Diaz in the Fox 2000 adaptation of the bestseller “In Her Shoes,” which begins shooting next month.

Curtis Hanson will direct the romantic comedy, which Susannah Grant (“Erin Brockovich”) adapted from Jennifer Weiner’s novel.

Collette will play a straitlaced attorney who is forced to house her underemployed party girl of a sister (Diaz).

Ridley Scott and Tony Scott’s Scott Free will produce the pic.

Collette’s casting comes on the heels of critical kudos for her performance in “Japanese Story,” which Samuel Goldwyn Films released Dec. 31.

Repped by UTA and Shanahan Management, Collette will next be seen in Universal Pictures’ April 16 release of “Connie and Carla,” opposite Nia Vardalos, followed by Touchstone Pictures’ “The Last Shot” (aka “Providence”) with Matthew Broderick and Alec Baldwin.
